Finding answers...easily :)
Even if I don’t know the answers to many things, I do know where to find them. Wonder where? God isn’t exactly on-call for the questions I have. 😊
I left my job in 2013, and since then, I’ve been freelancing—diving into domains I feel more aligned with. Over these 11 years as a solopreneur, I’ve faced countless moments where I didn’t have all the answers. And I still don’t know many things that I wish to do.
Take a few weeks ago, for instance. I decided it was time to re-design my website. The catch? I’m not a web designer, and my programming skills are...let’s just call them “basic.” But I wanted to do it myself. So, I turned to one of the visual design communities I’m part of, explained my limitations and goals, and asked for suggestions.
And just like that, the magic of community kicked in. Other members shared their suggestions, and I walked away with three options to explore. With community, you always find an answer.
Reflecting on my journey so far, I’ve realized that whenever I set out to learn something new, being part of a relevant community always accelerated the process. Communities have this magical way of making you feel at home—no matter where you are on your learning curve. You’re never “too new” or “too advanced”; you’re simply appreciated for showing up.
I may have less knowledge about a new skill but as soon as I join the related community, my knowledge base gets multiplied by the number of people in the community. What could have taken years to figure out on my own comes together so much faster, thanks to the collective wisdom of the group. I feel that what I may lack in knowledge is in abundance in the community.
Even now, as I write this post, I’ve hit a small technical roadblock. But instead of stressing out, I know exactly what to do—reach out to my community, ask for help, and let their expertise guide me forward.
Take a Little Pause 🌼
What’s one thing you can do to support a community that has supported you?
Here are some ideas:
Write a testimonial.
Give them a shoutout on your social media.
Refer their offerings to a friend.
Or simply drop them a heartfelt thank-you message.
Let’s chat about the communities that have supported you—I’ll share my favourites too! 😊

My Moment of Pause/Calm🌿
I recently added a warm yellow light to my room, and it’s made my evenings so calming. Now, I end my day with journaling and a book.
I’ve also started eating dinner earlier to give my stomach a proper rest and ensure at least 14 hours of fasting (from dinner to breakfast). I’m slowly learning yoga and the philosophy behind it (Day 13 of my 21-day practice!).
What have you heard, seen, or done this week that brought you a moment of calm? I’d love to hear! 💛

"you’re simply appreciated for showing up." Beautifully put.
As someone who has struggled with social anxiety in the past, just being appreciated for showing up was something I had to get used to.
