A confession, how you live, NSDR practice
Hey! Rachna here again, and I have a confession to make.
So, I felt my last post was a bit… preachy. So here I am, making amends! 😊 I started asking myself, “Okay, you talked about Internal Awareness, but isn’t it actually pretty hard to practice in day-to-day life? And, Rachna, how are you doing this in your own life?” So here’s what I’ve been trying out. If any of these ideas resonate, feel free to give one a go! And yes, don’t forget to give yourself the gift of pause.
Walking – Simple and easy, but here’s the trick: I leave my smartphone behind, and that makes a world of difference.
Calm music + closed eyes – Sometimes, this is all I need to reset.
5-10 minute meditation – I start with my breath, then shift my focus through each part of my body, noticing any sensations without judging. This came from a Vipassana course I did a year ago, and I’m slowly coming back to this practice.
5-minute screen-free sofa time – Just sitting quietly without a screen between tasks does wonders for me.
Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR) after lunch – My body and mind don’t naturally love resting midday, but I noticed I needed something to recharge for a more productive second half. I’m new to NSDR and still testing it out, but it’s been a big help! I’m sharing the video at the end if you want to try too.
Writing my thoughts – No judging, just letting whatever comes up flow onto the page. I usually do this at night when I feel I need to clear my head.
Watercolor and line drawings – I let watercolors guide me, helping me express whatever I’m feeling. Some days, my drawings end up as little snapshots of my day’s mood. Sharing a few of my drawings in the chat.

My moment of pause/calm🌿
This week felt overwhelming; work and home life both piled up, and it was just… a lot. But starting the NSDR practice two weeks ago has helped me find a few moments of calm and energy to carry me through the day. Here’s the video for you to try too.
Want to share your moment of calm? I’d love to hear! You can add it in the comments below or just reply to me personally.
I’m taking a little pause to enjoy the Diwali festivities with my loved ones, so you’ll get the next newsletter after a short break. Until then, have a lovely week!
If this newsletter resonates with you, feel free to pass it along to someone who might need it. No pressure, just love 💛
Take care and rest well!
