I have to do this🤷♀️
"Hey there, it’s Rachna! 🌻 This week, I’m talking about the feelings that come with my growing ‘have-to’ list. Plus, I’ve recorded a little audio note just for you! 🎧✨
This week (and a few before it) has been filled with tasks from my “have-to” list—the kind of stuff I don’t particularly enjoy. My “have-to” list was way longer than my “want-to” list, and honestly, it left me feeling overwhelmed and irritated.
When I paused to reflect, I realized something: I’m okay tackling the “have-to” tasks when they’re self-driven, but when they come as expectations from others—or from conditioning, I’ve absorbed—it starts to feel heavy. And maybe, my frustration wasn’t only about the tasks themselves but about how they ate into my time for things I wanted to do.
The only saving grace is knowing this is temporary. 🌈 I’m holding onto that thought because I know brighter, more spacious days are around the corner. It also reminded me of a day I spent doing back-to-back heritage walks in a city, yet I felt so energized. And that’s the difference: energy flows effortlessly toward what we love, but even small “have-to” tasks can feel like they drain us.
Take a little pause 🌼
Notice how your energy shifts throughout the day. What’s it like when you’re doing something from your “want-to” list versus your “have-to” list? What emotions come up for you in both?
Quote for your soul💫
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

My moment of pause/calm🌿
I recently revisited the book The Midnight Library and came across these lines that brought me a sense of calm. I recorded them for you—I hope they do the same for you. ✨
